Database management

Database maintenance is central to the effective quality management of your company’s healthcare scheme. While we can administer databases in both paper and electronic formats, we prefer using extranet technology for automatically transferring data between our organisations. There are currently three options for effective database management:

1. Use our fully interactive database tool on our website. This allows Group Secretaries to add and delete members from the group at any time. Around 70% of our large groups have now adopted this system.
2. Use e-mailed Microsoft Excel data, sent monthly from your company.
3. Use Extended Mark-up Language (XML) between your company and Protocol to produce real-time updates of the database directly through your personnel management system. This removes the need for data download routines and ensures that the data held by us accurately reflects the employee record at any point in time.

Online management reports

A specialised area of our website will be developed specifically for claims management reporting for your company. Management reports are designed to your company’s specification, therefore minimising analysis and the re-working of data. These reports can be edited as often as required to ensure your company has access to relevant and up-to-date information at all times. Available via the Internet 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, these reports are fully protected using password encryption.
