Setting up a CHT

This can be achieved in as little as six weeks – your company will then have your own Corporate Healthcare Trust.

Professional legal assistance is generally required to set up a Corporate Healthcare Trust (CHT), but there are now many expert lawyers in this field with a range of package deal prices to help you get started. This is a one-off cost and can be set up for a fraction of the first year’s savings from Insurance Premium Tax (IPT) alone.  Of course, this work can also be carried out by your in-house legal team should you prefer.  Furthermore, if your Trust requirements are relatively straightforward, Protocol has a 'boiler plate' Trust Deed which our customers can adopt at no additional charge, although this comes with the caveat that a legal team should review the document to ensure it meets requirements.

The highly experienced senior management team at Protocol work with your chosen legal team and an independent advisor to manage the conversion from start to finish, minimising your company’s management time. Typically, a Corporate Healthcare Trust can be established within just six weeks.

Protocol, unlike many administrators, encourages your company to own your CHT. In this way you have complete control over the benefits, those to be included within the Trust and all literature. Once the trust has been drafted, the rules of the scheme and the administration are identical to a medical insurance scheme but work out around 10% less expensive than the equivalent insured arrangement. Early indications suggest that by branding the scheme as your company’s own, there is evidence that further savings of up to 20% can be made.
